Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how MOKU ("we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.bymoku.com (the "Site"), what each cookie does, how long it lasts, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies help the site function, remember preferences, and — where enabled — understand how visitors use the site.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

CategoryPurposeRequires consent?
Strictly necessaryRequired for the Site to function (e.g. security, load balancing, form submission)No — cannot be switched off
Analytics / performanceHelp us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it (e.g. Google Analytics)Yes — set only after you consent

We do not currently use advertising, marketing, or social media tracking cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated accordingly.

3. Cookies Currently in Use

Our Site is built and hosted on Webflow, which sets a small number of first-party functional cookies to run and secure the Site. These are strictly necessary and load regardless of consent, as they cannot be disabled without breaking core Site functionality.

Cookie nameSet byPurposeTypeExpiry
wf-loyalty-tokenWebflowPrevents duplicate rewards/loyalty actions on Webflow-powered formsStrictly necessary~30 days
wfvisitor_idWebflowAssigns an anonymous visitor identifier used for basic site functionalityStrictly necessarySession / short-term
wf_dntWebflowStores "Do Not Track" preference where applicableStrictly necessaryPersistent
__cf_bm, __cfruidCloudflare (via Webflow hosting)Bot mitigation and security, distinguishes legitimate visitors from botsStrictly necessarySession / up to 30 mins
csrf_token (or similar)WebflowProtects form submissions (e.g. our contact form) against cross-site request forgeryStrictly necessarySession

Note: exact cookie names and durations may vary slightly by Webflow release. We recommend confirming the live list with an automated cookie scanner (e.g. Cookiebot, CookieYes) periodically, as Webflow may add or rename cookies without notice.

4. Cookies Google Analytics (GA4)

We plan to implement Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate Site traffic and usage. Once live, GA4 will set the following cookies, which are analytics cookies requiring your prior consent under GDPR/ePrivacy rules. They will not fire until you accept them via our cookie banner.

Cookie namePurposeTypeTypical expiry
_gaDistinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated client IDAnalytics2 years
_ga_<container-id>Persists session state for GA4 property (used with Google tag)Analytics2 years
_gidDistinguishes users (legacy Universal Analytics-style, sometimes still set)Analytics24 hours
_gat / _gat_gtag_<property-id>Throttles the rate of requests sent to Google AnalyticsAnalytics1 minute
_dc_gtm_<property-id>Used by Google Tag Manager to control tag firing rateAnalytics1 minute
AMP_TOKENRetrieves client ID for users arriving via Accelerated Mobile Pages, where applicableAnalytics30 sec – 1 year
_gcl_auUsed by Google Ads/conversion linking if Google Ads is later connected to AnalyticsAnalytics (conditional)3 months

Google Analytics data is processed by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. IP addresses are anonymized/truncated where configured, and data is used only in aggregate to understand Site usage.

See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data.

This table lists cookies commonly set by a standard GA4 implementation. The exact set can vary slightly depending on configuration (e.g. Consent Mode, linked Google Ads). We will update this table to match our live configuration once GA4 is deployed.

5. How We Obtain Consent

In line with GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, non-essential cookies (i.e. analytics) are not set until you actively consent via a cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can:

  • Accept all cookies
  • Reject non-essential cookies (only strictly necessary cookies will be set)
  • Adjust your choice at any time via the cookie settings link in the Site footer (once the consent banner is implemented)

No pre-ticked boxes are used, and rejecting analytics cookies does not restrict your access to the Site.

6. Managing Cookies via Your Browser

Independently of our cookie banner, you can control or delete cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically, across all websites, using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the Site's core functionality (e.g. form submissions may fail).

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes — for example, once Google Analytics is live, or if we add new tools in future. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. We recommend checking back periodically.
